Cellar Selection: NEW YEARS EVE 2011

Seasons Greetings once again everyone.

Every year for the past decade I have enjoyed ringing in the New Year with a few close friends around the dining room table enjoying great food and beverage while reflecting on the events of the passing year.

Tonight is no exception, though, I am pleased to share with you a unique find in Canadian wines that I will be pairing up with a rather savory Chinese food menu.

SUMMERHILL Pyramid winery
Ehrenfelser 2010
Okanagan Valley BC

VQA|White Wine
Volume: 750ml
ALC.% 11.0

This is a rare and distinguishable VQA wine that abounds with aromas and flavours of citrus fruits, apricots and a hint of gooseberry. Ehrenfelser is a cross bred varietal consisting of Riesling and Sylvaner grape varietals and a unique alternative to traditional food pairing were Riesling or Sauvignon Blanc are the consideration. Enjoy this one with Thai Curry or as a social sip & savour with friend anytime.

Stephen Cipes is the founder and proprietor of Summerhill Pyramid Winery in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia Canada.

Stephen is committed to environment best practices and produces 100% organic wines. His Kelowna vineyards are in the process of being certified under the Demeter Biodynamic certification, further ensuring all wine enthusiast and connoisseur are consuming wines that are produced in harmony with nature.

I highly recommend taking an opportunity to visit this unique winery in 2012 for the breathtaking beauty and views from this estate, as well as experiencing the winery Pyramid tour and sampling great pairings on the patio of the award winning winery bistro.
